A great website is a pleasure to experience. It invites you in and makes you feel welcome. It is thoughtfully arranged to make your visit effortless, even fun. The design is tasteful and classy, and is well-matched to the content of the site. It does its job, and it does it well.

At no point should a visitor to your site be confused as to where they are or what to do next. Information should be organized and accessible, and everything should work properly. The internet is a very interactive medium, and flashy design can never compensate for usability problems. Successful websites must be both beautiful and usable.
