| Before you begin planning your website,
you must make
sure you have a good idea of what the success you are looking for will look like. Your goals
for your website can lead to very different planning, design, and
promotion strategies. Your website must become the stepping stones toward your perceived goals. Without concrete goals you will be treading water constantly and no goal will ever be reached. It's not enough to want a business, you must have a clear thought pattern in mind to work toward. Foy you to say I would love to have a business so I can work with Teddy Bears, is not a business plan. You must rather say, "I'm going to build a business that will provide a place where Teddy Bear lovers can find Teddy Bear products." When you are planning your website you must think of it as a business, not a hobby. Yes you can center your business around your hobby, but it must provide a service your customers will be willing to purchase. |
Your website is a creation of your
mental images being turned into reality. Like any artist your
thoughts must accurately reflect what you want them to.
Throwing paint at a canvas will get you some very unusual
patterns, but it is not creative art, it is chance
happenstance and this will never work in a business. A business must work as a well oiled machine where all the parts come together seamlessly. You can have a great product, but if you never send out an invoice you will have no income. If you never get your product in front of a customer you will never sell the first item, except to your family and they will soon get tired of hearing from you. The world if full of ways to lose your money and they are all waiting for you to make the step toward them. Think through each step and then think again. Plan each step and follow good well thought out paths in business with each turn you make. Don't let your mind convince you that you know a bigger better way to do things, it will almost every time take you down the wrong path, and not the one to success. A feeling you must hurry for your business plan to succeed, you are on the wrong path. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: A pyramid will never make you money, it is destined to fail. A thousand persons trying to sell the exact same product, in the exact same way, through the exact same medium will only get the person who sold it to you money. This is a Ponzi Scheme and will fall on its face, along with all your investments. Almost daily your email and mail is full of wonderful ways you can make money. If it has grown large enough for you to receive a advertisement it has grown to the size where it is close to imploding, don't become a statistic. Take the time and make your own business creation work. Yes it is the harder path to follow, but you will be in control of your destiny and not someone who could care less if you win or lose. |
